# Shaderera > Shaderera makes 2D/3D hybrid video in code, for experts and the AI agents they work with. A film is `render(t)`: a function from time to a frame. The programmable era of ads. Shaderera does the production work around the code: it checks that the same `t` always gives the same frame (rendered in two orders), renders H.264 or ProRes through ffmpeg on several hosts or machines, shows any moment as a still, contact sheet or enlarged detail, reviews the film (blank frames, end hold, text fit and overlap, glyphs, copy, safe areas), delivers campaign batches checked per placement spec (Meta Reels ads, YouTube, Amazon Streaming TV, EBU R128, ATSC A/85, DOOH), and keeps revisions and frozen render jobs so a render can be repeated exactly. You draw with anything: Canvas2D, three.js, raw WebGPU, a DOM page (HTML, CSS, React), footage or your own shaders. There is no scene format, timeline file or house style; code is the source of truth. Every CLI command takes `--json` and returns one envelope (`ok`, exit code, findings with `t`, `file:line` and a bounding box). An MCP server renders frames as images, inspects state and traces a pixel back to the line of code that drew it. Requirements: Node.js 24+, ffmpeg on the PATH; Chrome only for the browser host. Version 0.1.1. Licence: MIT, for the engine, the starter project, the catalog items and the skills; use it for anything, including inside a product you sell. Only the name and logo are kept. ## Install The easiest way: copy the install prompt from https://shaderera.com/agents (the same text as https://github.com/shaderera/shaderera/blob/main/INSTALL.md) into any coding agent. It checks for Node.js 24+ and ffmpeg, installs only what is missing with tools the machine already has, installs the skills, starts a film project with `npx create-shaderera@latest`, runs `doctor` and `check`, and adds the MCP server. Or by hand: - Claude Code: `claude plugin marketplace add shaderera/shaderera` then `claude plugin install shaderera@shaderera` - Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI, OpenCode and other agents with skills: `npx skills add shaderera/shaderera` - Any agent with a terminal: "Install the Shaderera skills with `npx skills add shaderera/shaderera -g -y`. Then use the shaderera skill to start a project called my-film, add its MCP server, and show me a contact sheet of the empty film." ## Docs - [README](https://github.com/shaderera/shaderera#readme): quick start, skills, registry, how it works - [CLI reference](https://github.com/shaderera/shaderera/blob/main/docs/cli.md): every command, flag and the JSON envelope - [Delivery](https://github.com/shaderera/shaderera/blob/main/docs/delivery.md): formats, rate control, placements, broadcast - [Determinism](https://github.com/shaderera/shaderera/blob/main/docs/determinism.md): why the same t must give the same frame - [MCP server](https://github.com/shaderera/shaderera/blob/main/docs/mcp.md) - [Set up with your agent](https://shaderera.com/agents): one install prompt for Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI, OpenCode or any agent - [Licence](https://github.com/shaderera/shaderera/blob/main/LICENSE) ## Films made with Shaderera - MATTER, opening film (46 s, 60 fps, 16:9 and 9:16 from one render(t)): one body of 2M WebGPU particles, no cuts, every transition a morph. - P(DOOM)®, lyric video (2:37, 132 BPM): Swiss type on paper, words that assemble from particles, every word set on the voice. Song: lyrics by osmarks; opening verse and chorus by MusicPerson; original made with Udio (November 2024); this "claude-pop" version made with Suno, posted by deckard (@slimer48484), September 2026. - WALLLOOM, product configurator loop (44 s): a frame-swap configurator rebuilt in code with its own WebGPU renderer.
